Four polymorphisms in the MYH15, KIF6, VAMP8 genes and on chromosome 9p21 that were previously found associated with coronary heart disease were also associated with non-cardioembolic stroke in a new study from the Vienna Stroke registry.

A new GWAS study in Ischemic Stroke came out, which reveals the association of two SNPs rs6007897 (A–>G, Thr2268Ala) and rs4044210 (A–>G, Ile2107Val) of the CELSR1 gene with stroke in Japanese individuals.
The Catalan Society of Arterial Hypertension is offering 25 grants to participate to the 3rd Meeting in Vascular Physiopathology Research organized at the annual the Spanish Society of Hypertension and Spanish Ligue for Arterial Hypertension meeting (15 Reunión Nacional de la Sociedad Española de Hipertensión Liga Española para la Hipertensión Arterial – SEH-LELHA).
